Captain James Cook ,born in Yorkshire of England on the 7th of November 1728 was one of the greatest explorer, navigator and mapmaker that the Royal Navy ever had. He is well known to the world for being the first to map Newfoundland (East end on Quebec, Canada), being the first man from europe to reach the east coast of Australia and the Hawaiian Islands and for being the first person recorded to spot New Zealand. Cook joined a trading ship as he became a teenager and joined the Royal navy in 1755 (aged 27). Cook first saw combat in the Seven Year's war where Prussia, Great Britain, Hanover, Ironquois Confederacy and the Kingdom of Portogual faught the Holy Roman Empire, The kingdom of France, The Russian Empire, The kingdom of Swenden and The kingdom of Spain. During this war Cook surveyed and mapped the entreance to a river during the siege of Quebec, thanks to this map a stealth attack that was mounted at the plains of Abraham was lead to success. This lead him to a promotion to captain of the ship called the HM Bark Endeavour to travel around the Pacific Ocean until he was murdered in combat by a Hawaiian native.

Why are dino's extinct

No one nows the exact reason for why the dinosaurs have dissapeared since there was no human life to wittness the event. The theories are varied. The most popular thoery is the Asteriod theory. A massive asterioad hit the world 65 million years ago. If the asteriod landed on land, the impact would have started up dust storms that would cover the earth. Because the dust seals the sun's rays from earth, the earth freezes, but before that the plants would die out because of lack of sunlight, and the animals that lived on the plants would start to die out. That leads to the deaths of the animals that depended on the meat of the plant eating animals which made the entire dinosaur race die out. There is a theory that dinosaurs became extinct as a result of volcanic activity. There was an impact on the core that started off millions of volcanos, a lot of dinosaures would have died in the volcanic explosion but the result of the deaths of the dinosaur race would be the ash pumped into the atmospher which would have blocked the sun's rays from earth, the earth freezes, but before that the plants would die out because of lack of sunlight, and the animals that lived on the plants would start to die out. That leads to the deaths of the animals that depended on the meat of the plant eating animals which made the entire dinosaur race die out.Some scientists believe that there has been a server iceage which has been effecting earth for 10000 years have wiped out the dinosaurs.
But there are other theories on how dinosaurs have been extinct alien attacks, easrthquakes, tornadoes and there are loads of other theorys.

Eagle Strike

Alex Rider, the 14 year old MI6 spy was enjoying the steaming sun of the southern France with his girlfriend's family, he has just got out of the shock from his last mission in Point Blanc. Then it all when wrong. The killer that killed Alex's uncle Ian Rider, Yassen has been spotted by Alex walking into a boat. Then Alex's girlfriend's dad was hurt by a bomb that has been set off in the next room. While her family were greiving Alex sneaked onto Yassen's boat found a phonenumber on the table, Yassen spotted him and almost got Alex killed but Alex made it out alive. After Alex got back to England he phoned the phone number on a public phone
the phone answered Hello Damian Cray but then the phone went out. Then he was suispicious and decided to find out about this very sucessful buisnessman, Alex found out that he had made a gaming programme called the Gamslayer. Alex got to play the demo of the Gamslayer and got to know Damian Gray, he found out that he had a massive Gamslayer plant in the in Armstrdam so he decided to investigate. He sneaked in the power plant and saw Damian Gray and Yassen talking to eachother about something called eagle strike. Then unfortunatly a guard saw him and he was hauled into a cell. In the cell Alex spotted a trapdoor in climbed up the trap door and ended up in Grays office, Alex took a harddrive that Gray was talking about. He sneaked out the power plant and got on his bike but this was no normal bike it contained the following features given by the MI6 a bike pump that is a smoke screen, a magnesium lamp at the front of the bike, a handlebar with mini missles and madnetic bike clips, plus a bullet proof jacket. He rode his bike to Armtradam to find six smart car following him. Alex jumped on his bike and ran using all his gradgets on his bike he got away from the smart cars and other obstacles and managed to get to the Airport to and that day he was on the plane to London. He got away well but he did not relise that the businessman was holding his girlfriend as a hostage, Alex had to give in.
He handed over the harddrive then the plump man explained that he was planning to get rid of all of the drugs in the world by missile attacking all the drug farms in the world. He had to do this by getting accesse to a USA top secret goverment computer. He was planning to use the computer in Airforce 1 ( United States of American presidents aircraft) becuase it was parked in the Heartherew Airport in London. He needed the hard drive to set the missiles off. And Damian Gray decided to take Alex with him, so Alex went to the airport watched Gray evacuate the airport with a faluse alarm. Get into airforce one and activate the switch. But Alex made the plane crash Gray was so angry that he shot Alex and Yassan then he slipped and fell down to his death, Alex was lucky that he was wearing the bulletpruff jacket, he diactivated all the missiles and saved the world, but he found out that his dad had worked with Yassen for a gang called the Scorpia.
