Captain James Cook ,born in Yorkshire of England on the 7th of November 1728 was one of the greatest explorer, navigator and mapmaker that the Royal Navy ever had. He is well known to the world for being the first to map Newfoundland (East end on Quebec, Canada), being the first man from europe to reach the east coast of Australia and the Hawaiian Islands and for being the first person recorded to spot New Zealand. Cook joined a trading ship as he became a teenager and joined the Royal navy in 1755 (aged 27). Cook first saw combat in the Seven Year's war where Prussia, Great Britain, Hanover, Ironquois Confederacy and the Kingdom of Portogual faught the Holy Roman Empire, The kingdom of France, The Russian Empire, The kingdom of Swenden and The kingdom of Spain. During this war Cook surveyed and mapped the entreance to a river during the siege of Quebec, thanks to this map a stealth attack that was mounted at the plains of Abraham was lead to success. This lead him to a promotion to captain of the ship called the HM Bark Endeavour to travel around the Pacific Ocean until he was murdered in combat by a Hawaiian native.
